two adults and a young Hippo. They typically remain in the water like this 8-10 hours per day. Their skin is very sensitive to the sun and so they remain in the water most of the day and come out at night to feed. They will submerge themselves for 2-3 minutes every 5 minutes or so

the adults are fairly large by dog standards. A male adult will weigh around 50-60 Kg
